The Movie That Moved Me Is "Seven Pounds"

I saw it during a really tough time in my life. My husband was very ill and in the hospital. We didn't know at the time what was wrong with him, and he almost died. But through the help of God, he pulled through. Anyway, I was going through that, taking care of our two children, and working. The movie was an emotional roller coaster. I cried for about fifteen minutes. It was sad, but the ending was uplifting and hopeful. My favorite line of the movie, which I use as a mantra is,"You never know who's watching you." Meaning, always be kind, because you never know who is watching you, and when that kindness will be repaid. It also let me know that karma is real.

The No-Fail Way to Make Me Roll My Eyes, Wear Sagging Pants

Low riders and gold pants

Guys walking around with sagging pants. I wrote a post awhile ago, but the pestilence of visual underwear persists. But please, someone tell me. If you're going to wear your pants down so low that we can see your boxers or briefs, why, oh why do you have on ...A BELT?!

My Favorite Comfort Food Is....

Mac and cheese

Homemade macaroni and cheese with skirt steak! OMG, OMG!! I wish I had some right now! But oxtails, black beans and rice are running a VERY close second.

If I Could Relive Any Day of My Life

SEX

If you have children near you, ask them to leave the room. I wish could go back to the day I first had sex. If I knew then what I know now, I'd make the guys wait. Once you give up the secret, the mystery is gone, and sometimes, so is the guy. I'm at the age now, and this may sound funny, but I understand why sex should be for procreation. It's fun, yeah, but once the feeling of euphoria is gone, you have to deal with each other as people. Too many dumb questions afterwards, example, "Did you c___? You know the question. What if you say "no?" "Did you like it?" UHHH.... And don't talk to me while we're at it. I'm busy!

So in my next life, I'm going to play hard to get.

I wish I'd learned how to swim when I was younger.

I wish I learned how to swim when I was younger. Especially now, because it is so hot here in Miami. I always said every summer growing up, "Oh, I'll learn next year." But, I never did. Now, my children love to go in the pool, but I can't go in with them, for fear of drowning. I almost did a couple of times, maybe that's my problem. Also, I'm convinced I can't float. I feel I've got too much in the trunk!!

My Job Rocks.....Literally!!

What I like most about my job is the energy. I work for Hard Rock Cafe, so you know,, there is no way you can possibly go to sleep. I like the employees that work there, even the obnoxious ones! You meet people from every part of the globe. I mean EVERYWHERE! Probably the only place that someone has not visited from is Antarctica. The music is always blasting, and though you hear the same thing in New York as you would in Munich or Bangkok, it's still great. I have heard music from bands and artists that I have never heard of, and some whom I've never listened to. But that has only broadened my music interest. The memorabilia at our location is one of the best. We are one of the "vintage" Hard Rock's, so many people love to reminisce.
