So, What Do You Like To Watch When You Have Possesion Of The Remote Control?

A co-worker of mine and I love to talk about T.V. shows and movies. But it seems that whenever I mention a movie she should check out, the paper that she writes the name of the movie disappears. So, Natalie, this one's for you.
I love to watch movies. Movies that makes you think. Movies that you have to stay on the journey to see where it will take you. Movies that can tug at the heart strings, and movies that make you wonder where is our world coming to , or going to. Historical and political movies are dynamic, but only if you have the right script and actors to deliver it. I'm sure many of you have seen these movies, but this really is not for you, this is for my friend Natalie. But perhaps, your neck may jerk when you read the movies I am recommending to her, and you may want to view them again with a different perspective. That is , however, what this blog is all about.

1. Good Night, and Good Luck -2005-David Strathain, Patricia Clarkson, George Clooney
Robert Downey Jr., Frank Langella
Anyone who worries about freedom of speech, freedom of assembly, and just plain
freedom, should view this movie. Set during the crazy Joe McCarthy era, this
drama illustrates how one determined, but misguided senator, was taken down
by his own words.

2.Syriana-2005-George Clooney, Matt Damon, Jeffery Wright
Covering what is said on its liner notes,"What is the price of oil?...Big oil means big
money. Very big money. " This movie opens up the question, and gives a riveting
answer.

3.Burn After Reading- 2008- George Clooney, Francis McDormand, John Malkovich,
Tilda Swenton, Brad Pitt
All I have to say about this movie is the Coen Brothers channeled Monty Python.
Absolutely hilarious!!!
4.The Italian Job-2003- Marl Walberg, Charlize Theron, Edward Norton
An action movie that is intellectually thrilling. A funny, yet action-packed adventure
that is non-stop but fun. And the good guy gets the girl.

5.I Am Legend-2006(?)- Will Smith
We've always wanted a cure for cancer, but at what cost?
This movie poses the question and shows us the probable
result.

6.The Bucket List-2007(?)- Jack Nicholson, Morgan Freeman
Two men dying decide to live out their final wishes before they"kick the bucket."
You're gonna need Kleenex for this one.

7. "W"- 2008-Josh Brolin, Richard Dreyfus
A biographical look at the life of now former President
George W. Bush. I, however had to make sure that it was Brolin and
not Bush on the screen. His acting was impeccable, and the supporting cast
wonderful. Dreyfus was amazing as Vice-President Dick Cheney. No
wonder the country is in the shape it is

8.The Curious Case Of Benjamin Button-2008-Brad Pitt
An unbelievably beautiful movie about a man who literally lived life to the fullest ,
being born old, growing younger as everyone he knew grew older.

9.Seven Pounds-2008- Will Smith
If you could do something to change the lives of whomever you choose, how would
do it? That is all I'm going to say about this movie. You will be a different person
afterwards.

Well, that's all for now. If I add anymore, Natalie will never get anything done. I hope whomever reads this will check out these movies, if you haven't already seen them. Drop me a comment and tell me what you think.

That's all for now,PEACE!!!!

Uh, Hello!!! Oh yeah, President Obama, What Do You Think So Far ?

Hello friends!!
I'm sure you all are wondering, where have you been? We've had a presidential election, and we just knew you had something to say about that. You didn't. We witnessed the most unforgettable inauguration in American history, surely she has something to to say about that, and she didn't.
However, the President is addressing a joint Congress this evening, THAT I have something to say about. I have watched the Republicans stay strong to partisan ideologies that is not what we need at this time in America. I have lost count of the number of Americans that have lost jobs since the election, but it may be more than two million by now, and if not that, it is very close. At the beginning of the address, the Democratic members of Congress were the ones who were standing in agreement with President Obama, but the Republican side sat as though someone put crazy glue on their seats. But, as I predicted, as he went along, more Republicans applauded in agreement.
This wonderful man has strong people working for him in his administration and advisers. We should be leaders in green energy, bringing manufacturing back to America instead of outsourcing outside of America. We must, particularly now, find a way of providing health care to our citizens. There is no reason for us to ask Americans to go back to work , and no guarantee they are not protected with the help they need for health care. With Vice-President Joe Biden at the helm, accountability will be key to ensure that the money in the recovery package will be accounted for. We need to make sure that the people that we are sending to Iraq and Afghanistan are properly equipped and when needed , are taken care of when returning home.
The greed of the past HAS to end. There is no reason for ANYONE to have a multimillion dollar bonus from a failing company. Reaganomics has failed, or rather run its course. Usury is soon to come to an end because it is ungodly. Those who practices it know it, because it has brought the downfall of this nation.
There are a lot of smiling faces in the well tonight. Lets see what will happen and be said tomorrow.I find it fascinating that every news network has shown the address tonight. The brother is, if not anything else , is inspirational, spellbinding, and downright cool. How many Presidents have you seen in recent history is asked for their autograph as the are leaving from a joint Congress address?
I promise not to be away so long again. Peace and love to you all!!!
